THE WEEK THAT WAS BULLETIN No6
Welcome to the 6th VOTSCC weekly bulletin. Another busy week in the club so lets crack on.
This week saw the near completion of our CC v CC clash against Bad Moon Rising. The whole event was judged a success and a lot of credit goes to Paul for arranging it all. It had a few problems with players withdrawing and needing replacements etc but all turned out well in the end. The first ever Pc and mobile clash and without blowing our own trumpet we didn't half kick butt against a very good well established club. Goes to prove we have some top quality players here. Friends were also made along the way so alls good. Well done to all and heres to the next one.
This week also saw the 45th CC Clash take place. Baseball tee markers and flags were up for grabs as well as custom course cards. With 23 members taking part the club managed to finish in a respectable 60th position although a big shout out to the guys that compete non stop and use their superpasses wisely to rack up the big points. Well done you guys.
Sadly yesterday Nansting17 gave up her fight with the powers that be to try and get back playing WGT and being a great member of this club. Whatever the politics involved in this is, its a sad loss to the club and we wish her all the best,
On a better note, a score that was shot 2 weeks ago and slipped under the radar from us all was discovered this morning by Paul. CoryGRobinson hit a 1,000,000 point round in a 9 hole blitz. Now I'm not familiar with the blitz scoring system but when Paul says hes been waiting for this to happen for years, and you look at other scores in the blitz and most of them don't even hit 500,000 then it must be some achievement. So thanks for keeping that from us Cory, but what an amazing accomplishment. However because its 2 weeks old news and you had last weeks TWTW tournament named after you, youll not be getting this weeks named after you aswell. Lol.
Talking of last weeks TWTW tournament ' And Heres 2 U Mr.Robinson' was won again by Dschom5 with a score of 31. Can anyone defeat that man. Well done Turd and the other 12 participants.
INS AND OUTS-- No outs this week and 2 ins. We welcome to the club WhiskeyRenegade and BigAl1957. May you both have fun in the sun.
ACHIEVEMENTS.
ChuckD8 moved up to Master Tier
Doveruk moved up to Legend Tier
CoryGRobinson hit 800,000 points.
Pdb1 hit 700,000 points.
Kishoph hit 500,000 points
Mca19670 hit 500,000 points.
Donnymac3 hit 300,000 points.
ROUND OF THE WEEK-- Going to give this one to Jtcooki and Donnymac3 this week. Playing in this weeks Lynns Kick Ass Set of the Week tournament, they both hit a 28 with the chosen clubs for that week. Now having played with those clubs myself and that dodgy putter, let me tell you, a 28 is good going. Well done guys.
SHOTS OF THE WEEK.
McDad90-- 56yds at Chambers Bay
Dschom5--68yds and 98 yds at Pinehurst
ShooterCannon--80yds and 117 yds at St.Andrews
Wishman51--129yds at St.Andrews
But shot of the week goes to Jtcooki and his 174yard holed shot at the 14th on Chambers Bay. Again like last week there is no replay as Jeff is mostly a mobile player but any long holed shot on that course is good enough for me.
MEMBER V MEMBER-- SeeRizz and a other defeated Pdb1 and a other in a 9 hole alternate shot match. Twice I believe
.
The longest putt ever recorded was measured at 140 feet 2 and 3 quarter inches at the 18th hole at St.Andrews. It was sunk in by Bob Cook in a 1976 Pro Am tournament.
The reason the Pro tells you to keep your head down is so you cant see him laughing. Phyllis Diller.

One day, definitely one day.
JIMS JOKE OF THE WEEK.

Seeing as Dschom celebrated his birthday last week, the same day as DufferJohn7 I may add, he gets one of his chosen artists featuring in the bulletin. So heres a bit of Creedance Clearwater Revival for you Turd.
REFRESHMENT OF THE WEEK.
This weeks drink is Kraken Spiced Rum. It is distributed in the States by Proximo Spirits and is named after the kraken, a mythical giant squid-like sea monster. Introduced in Trinidad and Tobago in 2010 it has a mix of 11 spices including cinnamon, ginger and clove. The liquid is black, revealing hints of brown when held up to the light.
Cheers everyone.
Well that it for another week folks. Still need requests for songs and even your favourite tipple from you all. I'm away to set up this weeks tournament which is called TWTW6. JT's COOKING ON THE BAY. Will leave Hamish McTavish to describe the conditions in his own polite manner.
[b]Right laddies an lassies. I'm in a good mood this week so its easy peasy tees, nae wind and tourney greens at the Bay so am expectin low scores. So wit yis waitin for. Go away wae yies.

PS. For some reason the bottom half of the bulletin is written in bold underlined sentences. Don't know how I managed that but I aint going back to change it. Lol.

Well done Martin. Thanks for the CCR. Don't know any of the quiz answers, I'd say maybe naw on the 17th at St. Andrews, I think there are a few tougher holes on Merion because of the greens there. Keep up the excellent post, Why is this buried back on page 2? This is front page news.

Hey Martin...you never disappoint with these TWTW newsletters and tournaments. I'm not sure of any answers to the quiz, but the 1st question I'd have to guess no, you just take stroke penalties as with regular rounds. As far as St. Andrews #17, I agree with Turd. It is by far the hardest hole at St. Andy's, but there are plenty of holes that I find harder to play, so my answer is maybe Nah. Keep up the great work my friend....Jimdschom5

Martin, how about a little classic rock from the queen, Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin.

Thanks Jeff. Did you just better your score then in the round of the week or did I et it wrong. I swear I saw you and Donnymac score a 28 but I see your now coming up a 27?Jtcooki

Martin,
I did just last night! Was on my way to another 28 when I chipped in for an Eagle from 12 yards. I've adapted to those clubs well....lol!

Martin,
Another excellent report, I very much enjoy these.
Maybe naw on the road hole even though it is one of several where I tell myself on the tee, get a par and get out of here. Pebble Beach 17 is harder, or Chambers Bay 14 (I think) where you have to carry 260+ to reach the fairway from the tips.
No libation suggestions from here. I'm basically a shot and beer guy but do appreciate the craft beers and bourbon. But a shot of Jack chased with a cold pint is my style.
Once again I second Turd's nomination of Janis. But if you want to delve into guitar heroes Joe Satriani and Lita Ford are excellent choices. Looking to blues/rock country fusion you can't go wrong with Bonnie Raitt and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
Looking forward to next week, having fun and hitting 'em mostly where I want to,

That is up to you . Jim and I both have no deadlines regarding removing players from lists . We both have a tendency to hold out more hope than sometimes makes sense .
Jim's list is the best gauge . When a player is no longer on our WGT roster . That player is not really gone until Jim removes them from the CURRENT VOTSCC MEMBER LIST .
He usually tends right to it . So it is the best source for current members .
The disabled list is a little different . They have been known to be very difficult to remove .Mca19670

Cheers John for that list of artists. That'll keep me going for a few weeks. Jack D might even get served at the 19th aswell.
As for the poll I'm a Maybes Naw aswell after continually getting bogey at the 15th at Merion. Don't think I've ever had a birdie on the 17th at St.Andys right enough either when the pin is behind the bunker.

First week no one has got the full 3 questions right., Textor let me down this week Lol. First answer is true. Jack Nicklaus is answer to number 2 and the man who said he was the 2nd greatest golfer behind Tiger Woods was Ian Poulter. That went well for him didn't it.
See u all tomorrow
