WORD GAMES PUZZLES , GIF's , ETC Pages 1 - 21
This is my longest and funnest forum thread yet . 151 pages of pure joy . Also the longest publication I have ever tried to copy .
I managed this thread from Thu, Apr 15 2021 10:19 AM . To Mon, Jun 26 2023 1:06 PM .
One of the most fun thread's I have ever done . All while under moderation . Sometimes having to wait 3 or 4 days for my post to appear .
This is the full thread below . Copied exactly how it is/was in the WGT Forums .
A note or reminder for anyone who doesn't know . My upbeat positivity and optimism and good nature . Rubbed the trolls and the Moderators the wrong way . They rewarded me by banning me from their forums forever . And hiding my 25,000 posts from public view .
Back in the day . In the VOTSCC . One of our favorites . Was a weekly bulletin . That Martin created and ran . It was very popular . There were CC updates , Music videos , Some interesting current events , a lot of trivia , etc . It was called .pdb1
25,122 PostsThu, Apr 15 2021 10:19 AM THE WEEK THAT WAS
10 examples in that link .
Well anyway . There was a trivia question each week . That you weren't supposed to Google . I guess it was okay to get the answers anywhere else . Lol .
The reason I brought that up is I found some fun word games and puzzles . But I realized that they could easily be Googled for an immediate answer . Take that however you will .
I am going to try them anyway . For fun . And whatever else that comes across my path .
Anyone can also contribute here .
Let's give it a try . Keeping it light and fun .
Hair we grow . Here are the first couple .

2)
I will respond fairly quickly . Please remember . Moderation can take up to 3 days . Sometimes same day . Most times next day .
Thank you for being patient .
EDIT : . Sat, Apr 17 2021 3:50 PM .
Again I apologize for the inconvenient and unnecessary delays . I have responded yesterday and today . And there 2 new puzzles .pdb1

Correct BTB.

Seems daft to quibble on this but that's never stopped me.
Surely herb and herb and job and job are more comparable to mean and mean than they are to lead and lead.
I'd have thought both herb and job are homonym's.
If we must use words everyone then has to look up then job, herb and polish are all capitonyms (as you say in a later post).

Job = jōb ( surname ) ( the hero of the book of Job )
job = jäb
Herb = (h)ərb ( first name )
herb = ˈərb
Polish = pō-lish
polish = pä-lish
Maybe it depends on where you're from, Job and job (both johb) and Herb and herb (both with the h) are said the same around here, Polish and polish are different, although probably more Poleish and pawlish :-) I'll stop this now.DodgyPutter

I guess you all will remember this puzzle from your school days .
A man has to get a fox, a chicken, and a sack of corn across a river.
He has a rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing.
If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken.
If the chicken and the corn are left together, the chicken will eat the corn.
How does the man do it?

If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken.
If the chicken and the corn are left together, the chicken will eat the corn.
How does the man do it?
The man and the chicken cross the river, (the fox and corn are safe together), he leaves the chicken on the other side and goes back across.
The man then takes the fox across the river, and since he can't leave the fox and chicken together, he brings the chicken back.
Again, since the chicken and corn can't be left together, he leaves the chicken and he takes the corn across and leaves it with the fox.
He then returns to pick up the chicken and heads across the river one last time.
But I cheated, I know how to use the search function on the internet. Also how to copy and paste.

Below is a common warning from another forum .
Edit : See here it is again . This one I will leave up .
edit :
Once again I am stunned at the moderators lack of moderating abilities . One of the jobs of any moderator . In any forum . Would be to moderate and control and eliminate double postings .
Whether they be accidental or deliberate .. That is such a basic . And so obvious .
Here in these forums . If you are not moderated . There is a window of about 3 to 5 minutes . In which the poster has the ability to delete the double post . Or even a single post .
If one misses that window . One then can write and ask the moderator to delete the post that the poster wants deleted .
That doesn't even happen here . I have no idea why . I have been confused about this and other mysteries for 10 years .
If one is moderated like myself . It is bewildering to open up a thread to see your post has posted . Along with a duplicate that you did not even know you posted .
But that is what moderators are for . To catch things like that . Duh !
In my position . Having proven for years that I am not a risk or threat in anyway .
That I do not post profanity . I do not disrespect others . I do not make political or religious comments or opinions .
No violations of the T of C . Do not break forum etiquette .
That even if I did anything that they did not like ( like this post ) . That my status as a moderated user could be ended . And I could be banned at any moment .
Knowing that . Knowing I am at their mercy . What is the point of moderation at all ?
No point . I am walking on thin ice with baseball cleats on Moderated or not .
Moderating someone like me has negative effects on the whole picture .
For one . It often throws off the timeline in threads . Effecting the regular users often . Therefore involving them in a useless punishment .
Moderating a high volume poster like myself . Puts unwanted and unneeded work and time taken away from the important moderation needed from the moderators .
It would make more sense to not moderate me . If I screw up . Deal with it . Take appropriate actions .
It is not as though they have to monitor me . To stop me from creating some sort of anarchy .
I'm just saying .

Oh craig . You do know how to make things difficult .
I know early on . Over in SpecifiCity . It was stated that there could be 1 guess per post for a puzzle .
But if there are 6 answers for 1 puzzle . They should be in 1 post .
I think you confused yourself . Or maybe you got up to early .Because you posted only 5 correct answers .
Nice try .Zzyzx01:pdb1:
HOW MANY HUES ? THERE ARE 6 HUES HIDDEN IN THIS PUZZLE .
In the paragraph . There are various colors . Hidden in the words . See if you can spot them .
cyan
scarlet
indigo
teal
crimson
tan
Therefore Z posting 6 correct answers . Is the winner .
Well done .

That ^^^ is a twist on a question on a high IQ test
I Am A Man
If Larry's son, is my son's father, what relation am I to Larry?
If Larry's son ( me ) , is my son's father ( me ) . Larry is my father .. Or I am Larry's son .
But yes this ___ is a twist on that .
Who is in the photograph ?
The answer is not himself . Isn't it funny how a few words can boggle ones mind so much ?

An old one which is probably well known-
Boy is driving his own car home but can't continue, so he phones his dad and tells him to bring his car (the dad's) and a tow rope.
Dad can't fix the car so they attach the tow rope, - with the son's car pulling the dad's, the son then tows the dad home.
What was wrong with the son's car?

I believe my new book on GOLF gives the reader valuable playing tips and insider information that I have gained through my years of struggle, experience, and playing with friends. I'm hopeful you find this a useful tool to help you enjoy your game that much more as you enjoy the great outdoors.
The cost is only $19.95 and can be ordered. Don't wait until they're all gone !!!!

Figured this one out I think just doodling on the phone at work today. instead of scribbling out sensitive info I turn every number/letter in a name and student id into the number 8. Hard to figure out what it was before that.
Anyway, turn the paper to the side for more scrap notes space and was like it's a bunch of infinity symbols. Then randomly zipped lines through each one through the middle like cutting them in half. And it clicked. The number 8 flipped on its side was everything then I cut it in half to get a bunch of zeroes. LOL
Long story short, my guess is the number 8. hahahaha Wish I could have seen the look on my face when I realized it. ;-)

If they are dead then you would be right . Live gloves doesn't even sound right . But a mind of their own .
I can definitely relate to . I wear work gloves . Mine fit like golf gloves . Snug and can't be long in the fingers . I think they are nitrile mixed with a little cotton . Gorilla Grips TRAX .
A good glove can add so much . Strength , grip , confidence , Life and years to your hands and fingers by keeping them safe .
In my teens, 20's and 30's . I never wore gloves . And my hands were used like gloves . My skin on my hands and fingers . Calloused so thick . That if I tried to bend my fingers closed . That the skin wouldn't bend . I couldn't bend my fingers . If I managed to . The skin would crack and split open . An easy 3/16 " deep .
So I had to start wearing gloves and soaking my hands in things like vaseline , bag balm , Eucerine , Nivea , Alpha Hydroxy ( if you don't know what that is , look it up .)The strongest thing I have ever put on my skin . It literally peels off old skin And then grows you new skin . Almost before your eyes . One has to be careful not to over do it . Or it can weaken and destroy the ability to grow skin . Wonderful stuff .
For 20 years It took to get them really smooth . Very thin layer of callous .
Enough about gloves .
Yep your right H .
EDIT : Here it is . 3 days later . Still no posts . Not just here . But in any thread . Yes . It bothers me . A little . But really not . I cannot let it . I would go nuts . So it is what it is . I just have to wait .

Speaking of thick skin . It is not just my hands and fingers . I have about 20 tattoo's . On my arms . From several different tattoer's .
But right away they could see there was a problem . They would not take color . I had several of them redone with various colored inks . They still faded .
Then within a year . Much of the black would fade .
So a couple of them decide that pickling my skin was the way to make the ink stick .
Lol . So yes . They soaked my arms in vinegar .
I think it helped with the black ink . But still . No color would stand .
Just thought I would share that .

#48 just reminded me of something I used to ask my kids about some random animal, and the answer was always just that animals babies lol.
#49 I just went with the first thing that popped in my head. ;-) Thought it fit though, picture going up in the air, the horizon gets bigger (well you see more of it) and you can see less (items in the distance get harder to see).
Now I have to keep thinking about it lol.
