FROM THE WGT FORUM THREAD  Is a high number for meter speed slow or fast?

The reason I have to explain myself . Is that one of the motives of this person is to bait me into a conflict . One that can never go well for me and always try to avoid .

Moderation has already cut off my replies in that thread . Others will be able to spout off indefinitely .

The point I am trying to stress is that " the rule of thumb " that was once a popular tip for some meter issues .
Was to some degree try and match your ball meter speed with your club speed .

This would still be good advice for most tiering up WGTers . 98% of WGTers .

Not so much for the higher tiers . Who have mastered more control . 2% of WGTers .

And not to say that it is a hard fix . It is somewhere to start .

Most equipment is already close to that . If one is having no issues . Then 3.5 club speed and 5.0 ball speed is perfectly normal .

Try and match your equipment meter speeds with your ball speeds .

Could you explain what you mean by that?

The theory is for instance , that if you have club speeds of say 3.5 on your clubs ( irons ) say . Because you use your irons a lot .
Then your ball speed should be closer to 3.5 .
Not 2.5 or 5.0 .
It supposedly syncs them better . Smoother . It really seems to work .

For any new players reading this, the above "theory" is complete and utter nonsense.  The game does no "syncing" between your clubs and your balls based on matching meter speeds.
Use whatever clubs and balls you feel most comfortable with.  If you have set of irons with 4.4 meter speed and a ball with 2.5 or 3.0 meter speed, and that combination feels good to you, stick with it.
Hope this helps.

To call the advice from respected WGTers " the above "theory" is complete and utter nonsense."
Is beyond disrespectful in my opinion . "
Not a solid fix . But a place to start . If not having issues then no need to try . 3.5 club and 5.0 ball is perfectly normal .

SamSpayed wrote:I'd also like to point out that none of the top WGT players follow the bogus match-your-ball-speed-to-your-club-speed "theory".  They choose their ball based on what feels best for them, and (sometimes) the course and conditions they expect to face.

" This would be correct . As these tips were not directed at that elite group .

It is beyond me why this person is so compelled to discredit me . Even when the advice was given to me by " TRAILBLAZERS " of the game ."

How does one talk about " new players " and " top WGT players " in the same sentence, topic , paragraph ? As though one would give them the same advice .

This is all so petty . But a good example of how I have to tip toe around . While being insulted . Until in each thread I am cut off . Not able to post a rebuttle .
