TOURNAMENT PROPOSAL ????

HAD AN IDEA FOR TOURNAMENTS HERE IN THE COUNTRY CLUB....I WILL THROW THIS OUT THERE TO SEE IF THERE IS AN INTEREST FOR THIS FORMAT. EACH MEMBER WOULD CONTRIBUTE 50 CREDITS 50 X 50 = 2500 CREDITS . TO DO THIS I WILL CREATE ONE TOURNAMENT AND ALL THAT ENTER THE TOURNAMENT WOULD IN RETURN FORFEIT THE MATCH. AS I WOULD WIN THE TOURNAMENT. WITH THE WON CREDITS I WOULD SET UP TOURNAMENTS WITH NO ENTRY FEES AND THE WINNING PURSES WOULD BE CREDITS OR EQUIPMENT BALLS , CLUBS ETC.... I WOULD MAKE THE TOURNAMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS AND KEEP THE TOURNAMENTS LEVEL FRIENDLY.... I WOULD DO THIS ON A MONTHLY BASIS SO WE WOULD DO THIS EVERY MONTH. I WILL KEEP RECORDS AND LET THE CLUB WHAT IS IN THE COFFERS AT ANY GIVEN TIME , BUT WILL ALSO POST IN COUNTRY CLUB FORUM MONTHLY AS TO THE BALANCE. I KNOW YOU FIRST QUESTION IS WHAT IF EVERYBODY DOES NOT PARTICIPATE ....THEN THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER THE TOURNAMENT .... AS I WILL KEEP A LOG FOR THE MEMBERS THAT HAVE PAID.... Fish...run with it. You'll never now if a tournament format will work until it's out there. The problem I have is all Tiers" playing in the same Tournament from the same tee's / wind / green speeds and hole locations. I get bounced in the Bracket Tournaments, most of the time in the 1st round. I myself would be hesitant to play and chances are probably won't as I'd have no chance of winning, or even coming close. But this is a great idea for the Upper Tier members. Just my thoughts....Jim

Hey fish....I'm a big fan of tiered tournaments especially if it concerns credits. I know it's only 50 cents but I'm trying to save up my credits to get some better clubs. I understand that close to 75 - 80 percent are upper tier levels so a tiered torn is great...puts everyone on a level playing ground. I think your idea is a great one and hope you at least give it a shot. Would this go under the Free Tournaments or the Paid one's? Just asking because I'm gonna set up a few tournaments today and don't want to squeeze you out by creating too many of each one...let me know my man...Jim

Fish...probally a good idea to bail ship. There's always someone who doesn't read the forum and see's all the WD's and lick their lips. I didn't join but was going to closer to the deadline but now glad I didn't. I read the Forum at 3 times (minimum) daily so I keep abreast of what's going on. Sorry it didn't work out for you but, like I said earlier, some people just have no clue what's going on. AND YES, NOW i KNOW WHY PAUL"SUGGESTS" READING THE FORUM AT LEAST DAILY..TAKES A WHOLE OF 5 MINUTES TO DO SO......Sorry again...Jim

Whatever Skip . There is nowhere where anyone is ever asked to " post a whole lot " . In fact I have been extremely specific about the need for the info to be read and only an ugh , a boo , or a fk you on occasion is plenty enough of a response .

The guys who could not and did not read the details about fishrdav's tournament . FKD up and ended the tournament . Many of us lost credits . BAM .
I hate to break something else to you . There is no enjoyment or benefits for anyones credits in a CC for anyone .
Knowing that . Fishrdav had a brilliant idea . He suggested that we build up a pot or a kitty that could be used to purchase clubs and balls for the winners of various tiered free tournaments in his new tournament series .
GR8 idea . So the way to get this pot started is to create one mock tournament for $ .50 cent entry fee . Each member signs up and then With Draws so all the enry fees remain in limbo . If some one were to play and complete the round it would null and void the pot for the prizes , all the other members would lose there contribution to the pot . And the the member who played the round and spoiled it would walk away with E1's money . And then because they still never ever read the forum or even respond to me . There are many members I am referring to . Even at this point they don't know how serious a mistake they made . Most people cannot tolerate that sort of ignorance and disrespect . Fishrdav is long gone . And who can blame him . There were over 10 postings of the details of his new tournament proposal ..
Another sad day for me and the state of my CC .

I DID read the posts about the tournament. I understood the posts about the tournament I am not an idiot. I did enter the tournament and then withdraw. I did what I was supposed to do. Every time I post something on this forum I get an unwelcome response of some nature like "I got this" or something of the sort. I am out of here too.

Skip I wasn't saying you were . try not to take it that way . I only started with one of your comments and used the rest of the post to make an example of the more important issue we had . I guess you don't know me well enough yet to know I am sometimes just trying to get some responses , encouraging people to step up and say what's on their mind . Every one should do that now and then . Not be so sensitive .

Is that right ? I must have tried 63 other ways 17 times over and none of them worked either . I am open for some methods I might not have tried yet . Got any ?
I do a little bitching and P M messaging and when that doesn't work . I remove them . We now have a CC with 100 % participation . Not very many can say that . That was my first goal . I have had to remove nearly 250 non playing non respectful , non responding , members to get to this point . This is an incredibly stressful disenchanting , disheartening , thankless , frustrating task one takes on when deciding to build a CC . The CC owner turnover rate is a very high number . All that being said . I / we or most of us know we are doing something right . Now that i know I can achieve high level participation . Time to improve some other areas , that can only help to be a strong successful CC .

I am just stating that if people are not reading the forums and that is the problem, how would it be possible for them to read a forum post about it since reading the forum would be a prerequisite to seeing the post.

I don't have any ideas about how to fix it Paul. I wish I had a magic wand and I could help you, but I don't.

The fact that they refuse to read the forums which is one of the rules should be cause for immediate removal from the club in my opinion.

It's not too much to ask.

I personally would rather have 25 friends in the club that enjoy playing and learning the game from one another than 50 and 25 of which are always causing a problem with communication and teamwork.

Yes and since at the very same time I am also sending Emails and PM's to those non reading members that I know exactly who are . And all the ones like you that I know are all good . Already know I know and are not even supposed to pay attention to the posts that are not about them . Because then they will get all butt hurt for no reason and I have to type 2 more pages calming down a person that i wasn't even talking about .
( this goes for anyone ) If you think I am talking to you then I probably am . If you don't think I am talking to you . You are probably right .

My problem is I am to optimistic and patient . I have to try all these different approaches way too many times and always think that these guys are going to get it .

Because on the off chance they just catch a glimpse of it and get the gist of it . Or if I wait long enough I will catch them in an alt shot match and call them out . If that doesn't work then Sayonara .

I can see that. If that works it would be great.

That being said, constantly stressing out over an off chance is going to send you to an early grave. At the end of the day they are either going to follow the rules or they are not. There is no in between. Enjoy life and do the things that make you happy dude. This game is an escape from the reality of life that so many people need. I am not going to allow myself to be stressed out by my stress relief tool. LOL. That's all this game is. There is no real money to be made playing this game and everything else is just a number and computer generated graphics. Have fun doing what you do and if it's not fun then don't do it. LOL. Don't let stragglers stress you out is all I am saying.

80-100 members with 100% participation is probably not a realistic goal. 100 members contributing to the club XP is a realistic goal, but they will not all participate in the forum. If you want 100% participation, then the goal of top 50 is probably not attainable. Stressing over either one is silly in my opinion though. We have great people that like playing golf in the club, and that's all I really care about.

I don't really know what is realistic for the future and what is going to be attainable . I know that 100% is not realistic and know that we are very lucky to be close to that . I am good with 70 to 80 % . 70 to 80 members sounds more like a target also .

Yes that would be silly . I can tell you that this is just as much of a stress reliever for me as anyone . I have more laughs here on a daily basis than most anything I have ever done . When I type these responses and explanations , descriptions , scenarios , anecdotes , etc . I just get caught up in the the way I make my point . Trying to be as detailed as I can so I get my point across . Yes I do too much of that . I need to cut way back on that . Stressing over this stuff ? Not so much . Diligent , relentless , long winded ? Maybe . Lol . Really though . I rarely stress . Frustrated and fit to be tied ? Probably a little bit . Thanx for your concern . I am fine .

I assume this is about the fish on event that allowed idiots to steal our credits. Oh well I hope they enjoy them I won't cry over missed credits but maybe the people should be removed?

I truely dont give a sht if someone feels this is'nt the right place for them, nothing personal either way..i say go where your happy so you dont fck things up for everyone else!! Sigh, so sad. Fish had contacted me about the idea and I liked it. I told him to check with Paul, and he said he already had. So I came looking for the tourney only to find that, something had gone horribly wrong. I feel bad for Fish, and I KNOW Paul can sympathize.

Ok . Now what to do about it ? I will Pm these members and see if they understand what occurred .
The last time this happened it was almost too easy . Nitra stepped up , acknowledged his error offered to make it right . Very honorable . His Integrity is as is most of our CC's members has always been a noticable fine characteristic some of our finest members have shown in the past . And made us even more prouder I am certain . No reason to doubt this scenario will be any different .

Yes but my permanent numbness from having to live this scenario hundreds of times . Is an abnormal mutation of the mind . And not normal and my ability to somehow tolerate this everyday routine in my forum is something I should probably get some professional help for .

BTW . I will be gone for the next several hours . Be back this evening . After what i found when I returned yesterday . I can hardly wait to see what happens next .

Nitra....you are far from a turd and give the club a member who everyone needs to follow your example. You made a mistake and owned up to it and didn't just run and hide...that takes a lot of integrity. We all need to get past this and move on...it happened and there is nothing that can be done to fix this one.....keep on keeping on..Jim

I don't think anyone is a turd. I know accidents happen, and truth be told I don't read forums for every CC tournament I enter either. I read the forums every day when I log in for the first time and before I log off for the day just to keep caught up on what's going on.

Everyone is entitled to making a mistake. A good person accepts responsibility for his/her actions and tries to make up for it just as you did. You are to be commended for doing so. Great job and you are a great guy as far as I can see.

My concerns were not for the mere .50 cents which is nothing it was for something else that I believe Paul and I worked out between ourselves.

For anyone reading this . Ever . What happened was a paid tournament was set up .

We were all supposed to forfiet the first round to build a kitty for prizes in the following matches .

Fish the HOST had a low enough score to have it in the bag .

But 5 to 10 forum posts had explained clearly that we were building a kitty .

All of a sudden right at the end of the tournament . Another member came in and posted a lower score than Daves .

And with not enough time for Dave to go in a beat it .

So the guy takes the pot .

All the preparation and anticipation for a couple few weeks before the tournament . All flew out the window . Ruined it terribly .

Dave had every right to be pissed . The tournament was his baby .

Since this scenario had happened before . I/we went to GR8 lengths to inform everyone . It was so in your face . That even a caveman would have known .

So Dave leaves , Goes to the main forums and starts bitching

Well me being the all too understanding CC owner that I was . Happened across this new current , ongoing thread in the main forum .

Lol . So the trolls were actually defending me and the CC . As a result of his comments .

BUT THEY WERE RAKING HIM THROUGH THE COALS . BACK AND FORTH .

It was the worst beatdown I have ever seen . Worse than they have done me over 20 times . But not by much .

Well I tried to defend him it was so bad .

It didn't help .

HE LEFT WGT THAT DAY .

He eventually returned .

But now the trolls were pissed at me . For defending someone that said my CC members just got off the turnip truck .
Hence the start of my references to the turnip truck for years to come .

Anyway I'm pretty thick skinned . Plus there was only 1 member that had fallen off the turnip truck to ruin the event .

I got over it and so did everyone else .

Except for the trolls . It just gave them a little more ammunition . To add to their arsenal against me .

By now they have bunkers full . Lol .

But the whole problem with having custom CC tourneys with special actions and requirements . Is no matter how hard one tries to inform . There could always be that 1 or 2 ( we had 2 spoil one one time ) members that didn't get the memo .

There is never a guarantee that that isn't going to happen .

Though we went on to enjoy many successful tournaments .
