Hello . Welcome to VOTSCC vs BMR . CC vs CC Interplay .
We are changing it up a little this this time . It will still be our normal 2 round fr 9 and bk 9 format .
But with our introduction of the new MOBILE Interplay format .
Since MOBILE plays stroke play . So will we .
In our format . 2 rounds will be played . Fr 9 & Bk 9 . Separately as 2 separate rounds . Can be played on different days . Or can be played back to back as separate rounds .
In the more likely possibility of a tie in stroke play . If they end with 1 round each .
Each player will play a single player BLITZ on ST Andrews . The first BLITZ round completed in each players history will be recorded here by the player it will be their tie breaker score .
In the MOBILE play . Since the games are picked at random .
The course will be posted with the scores for each round .
In the event of a tie in the MOBILE play . If they end with 1 round each .
There is a MOBILE CTTH . ST. Andrews sweeps .
The best score wins . ( if that doesn't work we will think of something )
I will make a new scorecard for tie breakers if that happens .
If the rounds end with 1 win and 1 draw . That is how it ends . The 1 win , wins .
I am posting this thread BAD MOON RISING IN THE VALLEY OF THE SUN
In Community-Organized Tournament . In the main forums . As a common place for both teams and CC's and anyone . To post your scores , inquire about your opponent when necessary . Comment about your match . General discussions , etc .
This will actually be our 3rd Interplay with Bad Moon Rising . And they have always shown to be the best sports , the funnest to play . And love these events as much as we do .
Mine and our main goal in these is to have a fun competitive couple of rounds with another CC . To friend with more players and set up future multi player mates .
Which we have done in all 10 of our previous Interplays .
Good luck to all . Play well . And have fun .
_________________
May the SUN always be with you
BTW . Yes I did borrow the tie breaker idea from Yankee Jim . I thank him for that .YankeeJim:
with the CTTH as the tiebreaker
_______________________________________________
The MOBILE interplay is completely my idea . Am hoping to include this new format with all of our future interplays .drbob5590:
Do the players agree upon course conditions and green speeds ?
Doc
Nope Doc . The only time one can change course conditions and green speeds is during practice mode . That is one way to play big events in which it is impossible to attain some level of parity .
But the interplay events are usually played in match play mode . Which helps a somewhat imbalanced match up in that the match could go either way . And they don't count for anything . Maybe a little pride .
This time . We are playing stroke play . Regular conditions . And the default green speed of the higher tier . If there is a difference . It probably won't be more than 1 level . Probably need more experience at that speed anyway .
Again it is all for fun . If your not saturated . Close your eyes . Lol .
In these interplay events . Whatever the format is . Match or stroke , ? . The 2 opponents can see who they are on the roster above .
The 2 of them are responsible for doing what it takes to friend one another . Message each other .
Discuss each others availability .
Agree on a date and time to play at least one of the 2 matches they will be playing during the event .
Do their best to show up and play that first match .
Often times this does not happen .
That just means you have to do what it takes to have another discussion and agree on a new time to play the first match .
Play the match . Report the scores .
The above is the long way . And just describes the possible procedure .
Sometimes the first time you see each other green . BAM You're playing .
Set up a time for a second match .
I love the 2 round format . As opposed to 1 round . 1 round can be such a flash in the pan . 1 and done . Very impersonal . Almost not worth the time .
2 rounds ensures that these 2 lovers of the game . Have to actually interact and discuss and strategize their precious schedules . To set up and play 2 whole 9 hole rounds over a 2 week period at least .
Like I said sometimes it just happens . But it usually takes some good extra effort . to get through these events
If and when that all happens . It is usually incredibly satisfying , fun , worthwhile . And you have a new friend for multi player matches . Probably a couple few others from his or her CC too .

With the Sun and Moon rising together watch out for extreme high tides.

Well, i took contact with my opponent and set up a match play for this morning at 9 eastern time. The problem is, the guy is hidden (gray ball), not available. I don't receive any invitation from him and of course i can't send an invitation to a hidden person.
So what do i do now?

This is very common from both sides and I am sure it is an innocent oversight . Knowing Miklo like I do . I doubt he is in hidden status . Just not online .
I messaged him earlier . I am sure he will respond as soon as he is able .stephlaf63:

The only thing you can do . Patiently and maturely wait until you can speak with him again .
And be very happy you are not an owner and have to field all of these messages coming from both sides . PM's , wall posts , CC forum posts , main forum posts . Over and over again . Non stop .
That should make you very happy . Right Kevin ? Lol .pdb1

Just played Darrell there in what I'm led to believe was the 1st ever mobile clash. Lovely guy. We had to play at Olympic club in moderate winds. Darrell had a steady round apart from 1 double bogey to shoot a 2 over 36 and I had 1 of my best ever rounds to shoot a 4 under 30. Thoroughly enjoyed it and hopefully will play the 2nd game if not tomorrow, then start of the week.

I just played Fritz from Bad Moon and beat me in both matches (34 - 37 / 35 - 39). Even though I went down in defeat, I can't complain because I had the pleasure of meeting a great guy while getting my butt kicked. Ok, I can complain, but not going to (lol)....Jimautoallen

Everything is going swimmingly . Try to keep in mind that we have at least 2 weeks in which to play this fun event . There are many different schedules , timezones and variables for all of us to consider . I am quite certain that we will all hook up and play well within our time set for the event . If there is a need to extend the time that is very possible .
Thank you all for your patience and communication .

Terri, of Bad Moon Rising, and I just completed our match. It was a windy affair, with 25 - 35 mph winds at Royal St. George. Terri's par attempt on the last hole bounced off the pin, leaving me with a 7 ft putt for par and the win.
Textor 36, Terri 37
The 2nd 9 was much more difficult. We had moderate winds at Merion. We were both 2 over standing on the 9th tee. Terri, once again, saw misfortune on the last hole, as she saw her par putt lip out. It wasn't pretty, but we both had chances to score. Those Merion greens are tough.
Textor 38, Terri 39
It was a good match. Terri is a strong competor. If it wasn't for a couple of good shots out of a hazard, Terri would have won both matches. I was lucky. I hope to play her again, soon.

Good Evening All,
Finally was able to connect with Dee (Newcombdee) for our Stroke play matchup. Both of us had a lackluster performance on the front 9, but I still managed to edge him out by a margin of 1 stroke........33-34
Dee had several great chips, even sinking a few.
On the Back 9 Dee had some putting fo pas and I played steadily and held onto a 2 stroke victory.....34-36
Dee was fun and an extremely enjoyable person. We had great interaction and fun banter along our games. Fun was had by all.

Just finished up a couple of fun rounds with Darrell. Those St Andrews winds gave us a tussle but we got through. Darrell suffered through some meter problems on the front 9 and I took it 32-36. Things got closer on the back with Darrell drilling the fairways and me not finding them at all. But the putter caught fire, I could hardly hold it but it saved my sorry butt over and over. Final score Duffer 32, Darrell 34.
A fun guy to share a couple of rounds, I enjoyed it.

With just about every round on the books . We can call this CC vs CC interplay complete . And other than the unlucky imbalance in scoring . Also a success .
Especially the new introduction of the MOBILE interplay . That went extremely well .
Thank you to Cory and Kirk , Martin , Darrell , Textor , and Terri for being the Mobile Maniacs that made that a success .
VOTSCC thanx Kevin and all of Bad Moon Rising one of the GR8est sporting , friendly , fun CC's out there .
I believe that it is some consolation that BMR and their 63 players played a fantastic 3rd place finish in this weeks 45th CLASH .
CONGRATS on that !
I will see some of you soon in some multi player matches .

Played the back 9 with stickraper today, turd 29, stickraper 36, poor guy had one of those rounds we all dread, putts wouldn't drop, tee'd off with the wrong club on one hole, just a nightmare of a round. Feel bad for the guy as he is actually a really good player. Put it in the books boss.
