Public Citizen * even more evidence against Donald Trump *

On Thursday, news broke reporting that Donald Trump is on tape pressuring Republican operatives in Michigan — a key swing state — to take part in his conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election.
This is on top of every other sordid, narcissistic, corrupt, illegal, and authoritarian thing we know Trump has done — in business, as a “celebrity,” and in politics.
Yes, Trump is so persistently obnoxious that words like “unprecedented” and “shocking” start to lose their meaning.
There is a strong temptation to tune it all out, to move on, to hope he just goes away somehow.
But if we allow ourselves to become numb or indifferent to Donald Trump’s crimes, we allow him to get away with those crimes.
Donald Trump must be held accountable for his crimes against the American people and our democracy.
Public Citizen takes great pride in our role as a leading force among nonprofit public interest groups in pushing state and federal law enforcement to investigate Trump’s alleged crimes and, where justified, prosecute them to the full extent of the law.
Of course, all of that takes significant real-world financial resources — not only to go up against Trump and his MAGA adherents, but also to spur sometimes slow-moving or overly cautious government officials into action.
