- Andyson has been a wgt member since June 2009. His contribution to wgt will be missed. He was friend to many members and a mentor. Andy and my brother duffer66 encouraged me to join wgt . I had lots of fun playing golf with them. Andy was very active in the forums with information, discussion and advice. I will miss him like my brother.
Andy died at home from instant heart failure on July 4th 2016.

He sent me a Excel program he wrote that allows you to play any hole on any course...

I owe a lot of what i know about computing, and graphics to Andyson. I remember when i wrote one of my first posts on here, it was Andyson who responded with the answer i was looking for, and we became friends after that. I was wet behind the ears in both the game here, and using a PC.
I lost my job, and didnt know the front end of computing to the back end. I started playing this game, and had questions galore to ask. Andyson latched onto me, and brought my knowledge up to scratch.
I also loved the stuff he did with graphics, so much so, he inspired me to take on a course on photoshop, and adobe illustrator. I messaged him back and forth for advice, which he was always willing to help with. As i said, i owe everything to him.
I even have all my old posts from Andyson to this day, as seen here:
Im gutted, absolutely gutted.
R.I.P Andyson my friend, i will remember you forever.

Truly saddened to read of Andy's passing. WGT land won't be the same without him.
An absolute creative genius who was always keen to help whenever I'd have a query regarding our shared passion for graphics. Always the first to privately offer advice if he saw me biting here on the main forums.

Nice words and I fully agree with the above posters. A person could not visit this forum without seeing Andy's fingerprint in a few of the threads. My God...what a cruel world. I lost 2 friends a few months ago, and now another one. I counted my self as fortunate that I was on his friends list...and living in the same metropolitan area, I even met him once. I tried to get him on a real golf course, but he said he had some physical issues that made it really too tough to play. This is just one of those times when the words don't exist to do justice in paying tribute to him. Farewell my friend. If heaven doesn't have a scandalous newspaper, I'm sure they do now.Ducati916

Speechless. This hit me like a truck. I tried to find a picture he made for me in a thread about off ding putting, but no luck. He made a pic of a beagle, who had a cat as a hat on its head. All cause I said I need to put my shame hat on. Couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. I'll remember him always.1,866 Posts Wed, Aug 10 2016 8:55 AM

No, it is not a joke Eric, we have lost Andyson.
Man oh man ......... : (((lonnieskinner:
Eric, a post from someone in his country club said he had a massive heart attack and passed on July 4th. Prayers for his family.
Here is the thing, here & in almost any forum in the net, you get to know the person through their meaning whether positive or negative...then suddenly the "other" internet person/friend/colleague, etc, is not there any longer, it vanishes the same way it appeared...almost out of the blue!!!!
Very, very sad to hear he has passed away, really, he was standing on my side every single time I posted 3D graphical stuff about WGT, I guess we shared something together and that makes me sad....very. We both used lots of time making fun stuff using WGT as subject, I must said he mastered big time : )))
I am sorry not to share the TC promotion any longer, I do not see the point because he is sadly not here with us, I rather see WGT making a feature (equipment, level, tournament, etc) where Andy is remembered as long as WGT exist.
Sad Eric

- A sad truism of life is that we eventually die. The key to living is to do it with dignity, truth and fun. The key to dying is to leave a proud legacy.
It appears from the comments over the past 7 pages, and in other threads, that Andyson accomplished both.
well done, good sir...very well done

- A WGT tournament in memory of andyson I think ALL agree would be a GREAT event for an extremely dedicated WGT community member.
andyson wasn't just the average WGT community member. andyson was our Mayor, our Forum Leader, and our friend and confidant to the entire WGT community. In light of that fact WGT should without any hesitation have the yearly andyson Memorial Tournament. PaulTon

Ok folks, im only posting this so that (WGT) via WGTIcon can be held on their word. I messgaed Icon, who i know had a lot of respect for Andyson, about setting up something in honour of his name.TWOMINUSONE

I put my thoughts across on what could be done, but hey, thats not for me to say what should be done.
The only reason im posting here now is to show you folks that WGT are indeed thinking of something, but we will have to wait to see what happens. And if im honest, the message im copying pasting below is to show that something has been said.
Im not trying to stir anything here, but only to show that the message has been recieved by WGT and that something should be in the pipeline.

If you folks want to contribute to any ideas on what Andyson would love to see in his honour, then please put it down here.
No fighting please, ( i know you wont, we all loved the guy) just plain good ideas in respect of Andyson.
Thank you.
Sounds like a great idea of a tournament in honour of Andy's name and if there is a small fee to play which will be donated to the Heart and Stroke foundation in his honour, you can definitely count me in !patriciawilliams

Maybe rather than an entrance free 50% of all ball costs straight to a charity (ies). Couple of great charities suggested by Patricia above, and another very deserving one on his obituary page. I would be happy to pay to enter, and so just ideas by way of an alternative I suggested the ball cost option. .
Once a year sounds good to me also, he was here a while, and maybe based around July 4th date wise?
Sorry if replicated exactly what has already been suggested.
If the tourney would be for a charity I wouldborntobesting

suggest that WGT contact Andyson's family and find out what charity they would like to get any proceeds.petervcpt

Andy was so popular here , maybe WGT can set up some kind of competition in Andy's name?
This is my preference too, perhaps the Andyson National WGT Enquirer Memorial, and make it an annual event.
That would be so perfect

I have to agree with the above. Although I never knew him I read and laughed out loud at his incisive wit and humour with his Enquirer posts.
WGT, a tournament in his honour would be an incredible gesture.
Everyone who doesn't have positive thoughts to add to this thread, please address them directly to the person involved. This is about honouring someone who for a long time has been an inspiration to many folks here.
Respect that, respect his memory.
Cheers,
Peter

It really is a sad time for all of us at WGT, Andyson was one of the really great characters around here and will be very badly missed.
I love the idea of an annual tournament in his honour, if anyone is worthy of this it's Andy.

So far: His elevation to Tour Champion has been lauded...with the suggestion to reserve this tier for those who have made a special impact on the wgt family.TWOMINUSONE:
Ok folks, im only posting this so that (WGT) via WGTIcon can be held on their word. I messgaed Icon, who i know had a lot of respect for Andyson, about setting up something in honour of his name.
I put my thoughts across on what could be done, but hey, thats not for me to say what should be done.
The only reason im posting here now is to show you folks that WGT are indeed thinking of something, but we will have to wait to see what happens. And if im honest, the message im copying pasting below is to show that something has been said.
Im not trying to stir anything here, but only to show that the message has been recieved by WGT and that something should be in the pipeline.

hi
we're definately looking to do something special and still deciding on exactly what :(

If you folks want to contribute to any ideas on what Andyson would love to see in his honour, then please put it down here.
No fighting please, ( i know you wont, we all loved the guy) just plain good ideas in respect of Andyson.
Thank you.
Also, an annual tournament in his honor seems to be a popular idea.
What about a special ball?...wgt produces all kinds of balls with graphics. Is it possible or appropriate to have Andy's image on one?...certainly a better idea than a meowing cat.

My idea to WGT was to award a customisable avatar to the winners of each tier, as avatars are graphic based (like the whole game, lol). I dont know of anyone who has a customisable avatar, and thought this would be very apt.ct690911:TWOMINUSONE:

We happened by chance, to play a game,
before too long we were talking the same,
we disgusted an joked about pixels an dings,
and than he explain of the hoops and rings,
not too be confused, with scoring of note,
could it be your computer is just a joke.
He was always a champion for players and foes,
A Patriot at heart, he rest on the 4th
To me Andy; I still remember, Its Howdy Doodle Time

Well done Paul, Andy is smiling down. R.I.P. Andy .patrickmar

I stopped playing for a while (so apologies for this being so late) and came back, just heard this news, so shocked. He always had wise words and advice on how to get a better experience playing this game, and I read his posts and appreciated his excellence and general willingness to go the extra mile to help.Safdar1

Elevate him to TC tier. Then make that tier available for viewing. Perhaps it can replace the laughable "Community Spotlight"...I think we have seen enough 56 avg Hacks and Multis.
Edit: Gary is correct. The mail from Icon is dated 12 August. It's now 25 October.garyk49

More then ample time to have done something, or at the very least said what they were proposing to do. BUT not a word.PaulTon:

Fair point Alan..I only wish the membership had thought to do something like this..
Paul did a gr8 job with the tournament. I'm not a tournament guy, so I instead donated to the heart and stroke foundation. As long as it's in keeping with the spirit of honoring Andyson, it's all good.
....while perhaps setting a precedent for those of similar character who follow?

Andyson has been a wgt member since June 2009.

I am sorry I just found this news and am sad for such a great loss of a great guy. The wgt community will miss his humor wit and helpful nature.
RIP Andysonalosso
