Here is a link to a little program that switches the resolution between 1920x1080 and 1024x768 with an ALT + B keyboard shortcut. To exit out of the program use ALT + X or right click the system tray icon and select exit from the menu.
Once downloaded, just double click the file to run the program.

If you don't like the resolutions I can change them.
Actually, trying it out again for myself, it looks better if the 1920x1080 resolution has the same height as the 1024x768 resolution, so 768 pixels high for both.
Here's another one for that different resolution, made the width a bit less too...

Same shortcuts, but don't run both switchers together.



The resolution picker is good for a few reasons. Obviously it gives you more options than the in-game resolutions. You can change the resolution while playing which you can't do through the game settings. Some people like to have more height to the game window to see the tops of the trees etc. And as you have discovered, changing the width of the game window changes the meter speed, of course the trade off for that is the smaller ding target area, but if you can find a happy medium then you may, as you have, get an improved ding hit rate.

New feature in Chrome 96 :

Want to send a link to someone to a piece of text somewhere on a webpage?
Just select that piece of text, right click within your selection, then select 'Copy link to highlight' from the menu. Now you have a link on your clipboard ready for pasting.
When anyone uses that link, it will take them directly to the text you selected, no matter where it is on the page, and it will also be highlighted.

Scotty tip :

If you want to put a horizontal line into your post to separate for example, different topics. Just type out [‍hr] and when you post your message a horizontal line will magically appear.

Morning everyone,
Just discovered something interesting on superuser.com if you want to maximize the Unity game (PCEA) window. Fire up the game and take it out of fullscreen (in game settings) if you have that mode switched on.

Open your task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and on the applications tab, right click on the WGT Golf task and select maximize from the drop down menu and voila! You are now maximized. If there is a Unity Crash Handler process running in the task manager, end that task, switch to another tab (any one will do), then go back to the applications tab and right click again on the WGT Golf task.

You are now maximized. Here's a handy tip for Windows 10 users, clipboard history.
If you don't know about it already you can turn it on with the shortcut, Windows Key + v.
If it isn't already switched on you will see this...

...just click 'turn on' to activate it.
That may give you this pop-up...

...which you can close.
Now you can copy lots of different things without losing the last thing you copied. So when you want to paste what you copied, hit the Windows key + v shortcut again, and you'll get your clipboard history...

...just click on any of the items in the history to paste that item. In the top right corner of each item is a menu which gives you the options to...

• Delete
  
• Pin (keeps the item on the clipboard when you turn off your PC)
  
• Clear all

There are seven features in this application and a brief description of these are...
RESIZER WINDOW
CTRL + SHIFT + R
This window allows you to input pixel values to resize and position the game window.
FULLSCREEN
CTRL + SHIFT + F
The fullscreen option makes the game fill the entire screen without covering the taskbar.
MAXIMIZE/RESTORE
CTRL + SHIFT + M
Toggles between a maximized or fullscreen window and the last window size that wasn't fullscreen or maximized. A maximized window covers the whole screen including the taskbar, but the window titlebar is accessible.
WINDOW
CTRL + SHIFT + W
The window option resizes and centres the game window to fill approximately 85% of the area of your screen not occupied by the taskbar.
HIDE GAME
CTRL + SHIFT + H
Hides or unhides the game window, resizer window if open, taskbar icons for those windows and also the AutoHotkey system tray icon.
ALWAYS ON TOP
CTRL + SHIFT + T
Makes the current active window always on top. This is a toggle shortcut, so applying it a second time to the same window will remove the always on top.
EXIT
CTRL + SHIFT + X
Exits out of the script. Shortcut keys will no longer work.

Unity Game Reinstall

1.) Create a system restore point.
2.) Uninstall the WGT Launcher the normal way first, either via the control panel or from the start menu or windows settings / apps.
3.) Next, go into your Program Files or Program Files (x86) in Windows explorer, and find and delete the Topgolf folder.
4.) Open up the registry editor, navigate your way to this key... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\WGT ...and delete it.

5.) If you don't want to manually edit the registry in step 4, download and run THIS file, it will delete the key for you. You will get some warning pop-ups about editing the registry when you run the file, just okay those if you are happy to proceed.
6.) Reboot your PC.
7.) You can now re-install the game. HERE is a link for the early access Windows download or you can run the WGTLauncher.msi file if it is still in your downloads folder.

Adjusting Wind Offset :

To adjust the wind offset for a wind direction of 9 o'clock ①, locate that value in the wind direction column ②. Click on the cell immediately to the right of that ③, and then go up to the formula bar ④. The 100 value in the formula is the one to be adjusted, try going up or down by 5-10 to start with. Increasing it will reduce the wind offset yardage and decreasing it will increase the yardage.
In some of the wind direction formulas, this divisor is 200, but the method used to tweak the wind offset yardage is the same.

Tweaking Adjusted Distance :

To tweak the shot distance for a wind direction of 9 o'clock ①, again locate that value in the wind direction column ②, and go to the cell in the distance factor column on the same row ③. Change the value in that cell to adjust the adjusted distance yardage. The value in the cell only needs to be adjusted in small amounts, adding or subtracting 0.001 from the current value in the cell should only change the adjusted distance by one or two yards, but this will vary depending on the wind direction value for the current shot.

If it doesn't open a new message it may be because of a setting in the default programs on your PC.
It works in the same way as setting the default program that opens when you double click on say, a picture file. You may have several programs on your PC that can open a picture file, so you can change the one that opens by default.
If you want to change what program runs when you click on an email link, then do the following....
Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program > Scroll to the bottom of the list to where the protocols are, and in the left column click on MAILTO > if the current default program (3rd column) is not your email program, then click the Change Program button at the top right of the window and select your email program from the open with dialogue box.
Knowing what computers are like this won't solve it for everyone, but we might hit a few nails on the head. : )
If you use a web browser for your emails and my link at the top of the page doesn't work, for FireFox, in FF options, if you scroll down to applications, you will find you can change the program that FF uses to open mailto links.

It looks like if you use a program installed on your PC for your emails, you need to set that as the default program, using the instructions above, for handling the mailto protocol. But if you use online email, then you will probably have to look at the settings in your browser for the mailto handler.

Disable Your Mouse Scroll Wheel
If you have AutoHotkey installed on your (Windows) computer, try THIS.
If you don't have AutoHotkey installed on your (Windows) computer, try THIS.
After downloading either file, double click it to run it, then an AutoHotkey icon should appear in your system tray.
The script sends a scroll up event every time you scroll down and vice versa, so it cancels out the scrolling in the game.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS:
The PAGEDOWN key (toggle): Enables and disables mousewheel scrolling in the game. The AHK icon in your system tray will show an 'S' when scrolling is enabled, otherwise it will show an 'H'.
Control + Shift + x : Exits out of the script.
The only bug (I'm aware of) in the script is, if you scroll over an inactive window (i.e., one you haven't clicked on) the scroll will work in reverse. To prevent this, click on the window before attempting to scroll.
