Over time (6-8 months) I have had a series of failures to my WGT account. I receive friend avatar icons but no listing of them in friends table, PM had speratic errors to evetual shutdown, VOTSCC website could not keep login info till eventual didn't even recall me as member and could not invite members because I got message "cant find player" and so on. This was WGT response :

Dear John,
I see you have well over 200 friends. Our system is really only built for each user to have up to 200 friends. Once you reach 200+ friends our system can cause problems creating errors like the ones you have described. If you can limit your friends list back down below 200 it should clear the error.

I get the feeling that it's creating more errors than I briefly described. So, heads up on friends quantity. I'm in process of deleting ALOT of friends and will generate new friends listings of CC members ONLY. BTW: you can only delete friends 1 by 1 : - ((

Wow Mr. popularity, over 200 friends, but how many are really true friends, the kind that show up at your house in shorts and carrying a 6 pack.

LOL John....sounds like you have your work cut out for you. I have 29 friends (everyone in the CC and my brother in law only)...I HAVE NO OTHER FRIENDS (do you feel sorry for me?). Where do you live...I'll do better than a 6 pack...I'll bring a case each for both of us...LOL

I wish I was at my PC right now I have many articles on this topic look on the website unde the magic number 256 it will explain all the details to you.
The old software that WGT uses has a limit up 2:55 friends anything more than that will disable the ability to use 2 p.m. messaging if you keep the number below that you will be able to connect with all your 255 friends.
But that has nothing to do with the cross-platform issues.
I will post it all later when I get home from work

*edit-LOL. I didn't look at how many you have and now that I did I can tell you you should do the same thing. Get the number under 256 and then come back here. Until you do, whether you like it or not, 256 remains the magic number. Search the many discussions about it. :-)
For a couple years I have been complaining about my friends list and the PM messaging . I have always known that it is recommended that you do not exceed 256 friends as that is the limit for the PM's . My stubbornness and unwillingness to let go of my 750 plus friends . Lol you never know if you will play them again this century .

Well last night I said fk it . It took me a while but I deleted 465 friends . And what do you know ? Today I have PM messaging with 100 % of CC members. 256 is the magic number .
Can't believe I was so stubborn and waited so long . All good now .pdb1

Lol this is post i made 5 months before that one above . I was actually referring to the invisible invites in this one . Which really had me fired up . Turned out had nothing to do with the amount of friends one had .

Correction YJ 256 is the cursed number . This guy has barely over 200 and having to endure these bugs nonetheless .
There are guys ive been meeting with 30 , or 50 , or 70 , or 114 that are having these problems .
Inviting for matches with this problem of the invites ruined both our Saturday and Sunday tournaments through "challonge " this weekend . No one could see the invites . . Yes everyone was careful to patiently wait and wait in the lobby for the invite . Eventually switching positions . Then refreshing at some point ( which did work in one instance ) Manually typing the invisible friend in for the invites just makes it even more frustrating .
IMO there is much more than the 256 cursed number happening here . If that number is still actually a real road block . It needs to be modified and increased ten fold . The 1000's of us with double that number 400 , 500 , 600 , are never going to part with our friend list . That maximum number is unrealistic and cannot be practically maintained . IE : If a large club member had 1 friend for every club member friend that is 500 right there and likely plans on friending many more being that meeting extremley interesting people and wanting to reaquaint is now becoming one of the welcome and popular features helping people justify all the other crap we are enduring in seemingly more and more neglected issues and glitches .
The 256 cap is rapidly growing into the root cause itself . I have been battling it for 3 years . I will never give in and neither will thousands of others .
Idc what other sites do . I do know that friends in the tens of thousands is not uncommon and evidently necessary .
I'm just saying . INCREASE THE LIMIT AND THE INVISIBLE FRIEND WILL APPEAR . WHO KNOWS MAYBE SOLVE ALL THE TRICKLE DOWN GLITCHES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH IT .
Come on wake up .
If at all possible Could I request some sort of reply on the status of this issue from your perspective ? Please ?

I went up too a 130 and I say its not worth becous I not play all of them today I have only 31 all the CC members plus 2 keep it low

Aside from all CC members and your current friends . There is no need for anymore .
I deleted 400 plus in one day . Now after a few new CC members and a few new friends . Periodically I have to trim a few more to stay below 255 .
