Coreboot is a free software project aimed at replacing the proprietary BIOS (firmware) you can find in most of today's computers. In many cases the BIOS or boot firmware is the only thing standing in the way of a person running their system using exclusively free software.
Free, as in "Freedom of Speech", NOT as in "Free Beer"
